A freeride classic on the south side of the Sass Pordoi with a direct cable car ascent without a climb

The striking Sella massif looks like an impregnable fortress. The famous Sellaronda runs around the entire stock in both directions. The Pordoijoch and the gondola lift to the summit of the Sass Pordoi are usually simply left behind by piste skiers. Yet the valley station can be reached almost comfortably with a chairlift from the ski area. The last 150 m are then covered on foot. The cable car takes climbers in summer and freeriders in winter up to just under 3,000 m in one go without supports. The Terrace of the Dolomites, as the summit is also called, cannot be topped in terms of views. The descent is spectacular but not too difficult on the south side. If you want untracked powder snow, you have to get up very, very early.
