This easy walk starts at Passo Bordala (1,253 m), between the Valle di Gresta and Vallagarina. You can park near the Passo Bordala hotel and follow the signs for "Monte Biaena" on the other side of the road (path 671). Initially the road is asphalted, passing some meadows and then taking the forest road as it enters the woods along a path. Once you have reached some rocky slabs, you can enjoy the panorama of Monte Stivo, Val di Gresta and, in the background, Lake Garda. Continue along path no. 671 and, after passing the Capanna Monte Biaena hut, you will reach the meadows at the summit, at an altitude of 1618 metres. The view from the summit opens out onto Vallagarina and its mountains. In spring and early summer the meadows are in bloom, with peonies and mountain anemones providing a priceless view.

It is possible to return (with the necessary equipment and preparation) from path no. 673, which descends to Malga Somator, or otherwise from the route just taken uphill.

Author’s recommendation
