From Col Rodella, walk down along path no. 529 and then take paths no. 557 and 557-4, also known as "Friedrich August Weg". The trail follows an easy, relatively even path at the feet of the Grohmann and Innerkofler peaks, the Dente del Sassolungo and the Sasso Piatto, then it leads onto the wide grassy saddle of the "Giogo di Fassa", with the Sasso Piatto Refuge. From here, the trail (no. 594-4) continues along the Siusi crest, then down the slope of the Val Duron to the namesake pass. Some saddles along the way give the chance to enjoy superb views on the opposite slope too, towards the Alpe di Siusi and the Odle. From the Duron Pass, the trail no. 532 descends into the Val Duron and then turns right on path no. 555, which leads to the "Ciaréjoles" Pass. Short after the pass, the path joins trail no. 580, which ascends to the right along steep curves towards the Dona Pass and flanks the southern slope of the "Cima di Dona" to reach the Antermoia Refuge.

Safety information

For your hikes in mountain always choose itineraries in accordance with your technical and physical abilities. Consult maps of the area to visit and check the best way to follow. If you walk in group including slower hikers, always calculate longer average times to cover the distances.

Preferably do not hike alone in mountain. Otherwise tell someone the itinerary that you are going to follow and let him know when you are back.

Check the weather forecast and, while hiking, constantly pay attention to the evolution of the weather.

If you do not feel safe, give up. In mountain, sometimes, it is better to surrender than to face the dangers deriving from bad weather conditions or from difficulties superior to one’s limits. In advance look for alternative itineraries to get back.

Bring rubbish back with you. Respect the flora and fauna. Remain on the marked tracks, avoiding to follow shortest ways, in order to avoid causing damages to vegetation and the territory. Respect local cultures andtraditions, always bearing in mind that you are a guest.

Destination

Antermoia Refuge

Turn-by-turn directions

The tour counts 6 stages on well-indicated CAI-SAT paths. From any point, it is possible to descend to the valley and, thanks to the shuttle service, the mountain lifts or the public means, easily get back to the departure.

From Col Rodella, walk down along path no. 529 and then take paths no. 557 and 557-4, also known as "Friedrich August Weg" after the King of Saxony, a keen botanist.

Shortly after the "Ciaréjoles Pass", the path joins trail no. 580, which ascends to the right in steep curves towards the Dona Pass (2,516 m) and flanks the southern slope of the "Cima di Dona" to reach finally the Antermoia Refuge (2,497 m), where the overnight is planned. This is the heart of the Val di Fassa Dolomites, dominated by the magnificent view of the eastern wall of the Catinaccio d’Antermoia.
